In simplest terms a Labradoodle is cross between a lab and a poodle. Labradoodles have a wide variation in coat (some shed, some do not), temperament (poodle traits & lab traits), size and appearance.
The authentic Multigenerational Australian Labradoodle is a dog who's pedigree goes back 4 generations or more of Australian Labradoodles (meaning no pure bred labs or poodles for 4 generations). This helps us to be able to produce dogs that conform to a breed standard much more predictably. Meaning you can expect them to be low to non shedding, have a distinctive appearance, a predictable size & temperament.
Honestly, I wondered the same thing when I first started looking for my first Australian Labradoodle. As I have been educated as a breeder I have learned how expensive it is to produce mentally, emotionally & physically healthy dogs who will be great family members for a very long time. You may be able to find a puppy for a lower cost, but the old adage is true: Pay now or pay later. Paying a premium to buy your puppy from a reputable breeder, who breeds from health tested breeding stock will save you in vet bills & heart ache down the road.
Currently our breeding stock are all mini and small medium Australian Labradoodles. The breed standard sizes are:
The Standard - 21 to 24 inches;
The Medium - 17 to 20 inches;
The Miniature - 14 to 161/2 inches
Yes! Yes! and Yes! I wouldn't trade the benefit of a non shedding dog for anything but the trade of is definitely regular grooming. Depending on the time of year, our dogs see the groomer every 5-8 weeks. We brush regularly at home and give baths at home between grooming. Grooming is not just about keeping them looking Instagram ready! Matting in their coats can be extremely painful for them and cause additional health problems.
We do not ship puppies checked into cargo. We will however have a travel nanny fly with your pup in the cabin. You will pay the cost of the flight and an additional travel fee. Email us for more information about travel nanny's!
Unfortunately this is always a possibility. We are happy to transfer your deposit to the next planned litter.
I'm sure I'm biased but I think adding an Australian Labradoodle to your home is one of the most exciting things you can do! Buuut.... puppies are puppies no matter how cute, smart and non shedding they are! Your puppy will probably be sad at first, missing his/her birth mom. Potty training will be a process that takes dedication and consistency. You will definitely want to keep the house tidy because 8 week old puppies are always looking for something to chew! Raising a puppy is challenging but you should definitely expect to get what you put in to your dog. If you put in the time and energy to bond, train, exercise and socialize your pup from the beginning you will have a companion you wouldn't trade for the world!
